Chronic pain and itch are worldwide health problems producing inestimable human suffering. Over 115 million individuals in the United States report chronic pain at an economic cost of more than $600 billion each year [1].
We understand that chronic pain and itch can change the fundamental ways in which the peripheral and central nervous system function. Our lab is working to identify how these changes occur and to discover new ways to stop or reverse them. 2020 Lab Picture
